Begin your apprenticeship journey at BTC by applying for an apprenticeship on our website or through our prospectus form. Please apply for a full-time course as your second option. This course is for those looking for work in a junior supervisory level position in the hospitality industry. The course can be tailored to ensure that it encompasses disciplines that suit you and your employer, and perhaps lead to a move into a management role within the hospitality sector.

Subjects covered include:

  • Developing working relationships within your sector
  • Leading a team to improve customer service delivery
  • Learning how to effectively control resources
  • Implementing and monitoring health, security, safety and hygiene
  • Learning how to run your own sector of the hospitality industry to maximise profits and customer satisfaction

Assessment Methods

You will be continually assessed in the workplace and at College to build up an evidence log book showing your general development and within your core specialism. At the end of the course there are four exams including an observation, business project, professional discussion and multiple choice test.

Progression Options

On completion of the Apprenticeship, you may choose to continue your studies or move into management or a supervisory position in a range of hospitality settings including hotels, bars, restaurants and leisure centres.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements, but you are required to
complete an initial English and Maths assessment (Century)
to a minimum of level 1 standard. If you do not already
hold GCSE English and maths at grade 4 (C) you will need
to complete a functional skills programme during your
studies.

We work in the Quantock Restaurant which offers a range of services from breakfast buffets to gourmet evenings. This means we're able to practice our skills in a professional kitchen and front of house environment, and prepare ourselves for the industry.
